Free Tek Tools

SLATE — The Dive Slate, Computed

Every technical diver writes the plan on a slate. These are ours — six free planning tools built by the academy’s own instructors for real technical diving, on the same maths we teach in the water every week.

NITROX

Best Mix & MOD

The richest safe nitrox for any depth, its MOD at 1.4 and 1.6, EAD and a live pO2 / narcosis / density envelope.

Open tool
CONSUMPTION

SAC & RMV

Your real gas consumption from a logged dive — RMV and SAC — with a personal average that learns as you save dives.

Open tool
THIRDS

Gas Planning & Thirds

Gas required, turn pressure and reserve on the rule of thirds — with a clear fits-or-does-not verdict for your cylinder.

Open tool
HELIUM

Trimix Best Mix

Depth, pO2 and target END in — the right trimix out, with hypoxic and travel-gas warnings and a gas-density verdict.

Open tool
FILL PANEL

Gas Blender

Partial-pressure fill steps for the cylinder you actually have — helium, oxygen, then air — with drain-first warnings.

Open tool
DECOMPRESSION

Deco Planner

Full Buhlmann ZH-L16C + GF stop schedule with gas switches, CNS/OTU and gas totals - air, nitrox and trimix.

Open tool

Your RMV, cylinders and preferences are remembered on this device — nothing leaves your phone, and the tools keep working offline once you have opened them.

Checked, not trusted: every SLATE formula is pinned by 130 automated reference checks that run on any change — cross-validated against Subsurface’s published planner tests, the independent DecoTengu ZH-L16C implementation, the printed MOD tables divers carry, and the Splash apps our own instructors built.

For training and planning purposes only. Analyse every mix before you breathe it and always dive within your certification.

Behind Every Tool

The Course That Teaches It

Each calculator is one lesson from a course we run every month in Hurghada. When you want the skill behind the number, we are one message away.

About The SLATE Tools

Yes — all six tools are free, with no account, no signup and no ads. They run in your browser and keep working offline after your first visit, so they're usable on a boat with no signal.

No. Every calculation runs locally in your browser, and your saved profile — RMV, cylinders, preferences — is stored on your device only. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere; the site separately counts anonymous page visits, as described in our privacy notice.

Bühlmann ZH-L16C with gradient factors, defaulting to GF 30/70. The maths behind every tool is pinned by 130 automated reference checks that run on every change, cross-validated against Subsurface's published planner tests and the independent DecoTengu implementation.

They are planning and training aids, not a substitute for formal training, a dive computer or common sense. Plan with them, then verify against your training and your computer — and analyse every gas mix before you breathe it.

Six: Best Mix & MOD (nitrox), SAC & RMV, Gas Planning & rule of thirds, Trimix Best Mix, a partial-pressure Gas Blender, and the full Bühlmann Deco Planner.
