The rules for using this site — and what the dive calculators are and are not.
These terms cover your use of doublewingtek.com, including the free SLATE dive calculators. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Read this first if you are here for the calculators. The SLATE tools are planning aids for trained divers. They are not a dive computer, not a substitute for training, supervision or judgement, and not a guarantee of safety. Every output must be independently verified before it is used on a dive.
The dive tools
The calculators on this site — best mix and MOD, SAC and RMV, gas planning and thirds, trimix, gas blending and the decompression planner — implement published technical-diving formulas. Their results are pinned by automated reference checks and cross-checked against independent implementations and printed tables, and we publish what has been validated on each tool page. That is a statement about arithmetic, not about your dive.
- They are for training and planning purposes only, for divers already qualified for the diving being planned.
- Analyse every gas before you breathe it. Never rely on a calculated mix.
- Always dive within your certification, your agency’s standards and your own experience, and follow your instructor, your team plan and your dive computer.
- Decompression modelling is inherently uncertain. Outputs vary with the model, the gradient factors and the assumptions used, and they cannot account for your physiology, workload, thermal stress, hydration or the conditions on the day.
- Verify every result independently before acting on it. Do not use these tools as your only source.
Technical diving carries a risk of serious injury and death. You are responsible for your own dive planning and for the dives you choose to make. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss, injury or damage arising from reliance on these tools.
Training, courses and expeditions
Course descriptions, prerequisites, durations and prices on this site are indicative and may change. Nothing here is a binding offer: a booking exists only once we have confirmed it with you directly. All training is delivered under the standards of the relevant certifying agency (TDI, SDI, PADI Tec or IANTD), and those standards — including prerequisites, minimum ages and medical requirements — take precedence over anything written here. Certification is never guaranteed by payment or attendance: it is earned by meeting the performance requirements.
Diving requires adequate medical fitness. You must disclose relevant medical conditions honestly and, where required, provide medical clearance. Expeditions and dive sites depend on weather, sea state, boat availability and the decisions of the local authorities, and may be changed or cancelled for safety.
Using this site
You may use this site and its tools for your own personal and professional dive planning. Please do not attempt to disrupt or overload the site, gain unauthorised access to any part of it, or scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other people.
Content and ownership
The text, design, images, code and calculators on this site belong to Double Wing Tek or are used with permission, except for third-party names and marks. TDI, SDI, PADI and IANTD are the trademarks of their respective owners; we reference them to describe the training we deliver. You may read, print and share pages for your own non-commercial use with attribution; please ask before republishing.
Other sites we link to
We link to external sites, including WhatsApp and agency websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data.
No warranty and limits
The site is provided “as is”. We work to keep it accurate and available but cannot promise it is free of errors or never interrupted. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of Egypt have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live.
